Apparently pop sensation Miley Cyrus has decided to say goodbye to the Disney Channel series that made her a star. Not sure how that happened.In television, most shows end up being cancelled while a few finish on their own terms. (Somehow, her character still ends up with the guitarist in the end. It soundtracks Miley's emotional decision-making process as she tries to choose between her literal boyfriend and a bad-boy guitarist that she's known for like, five minutes. It's a cloying power ballad about the trials of "listening to your heart" and feeling conflicted. Not many songs from the soundtrack were even performed by Hannah on the show, and when they did make cursory appearances, it was usually to soundtrack melodramatic scenes that the real Miley was quickly and clearly outgrowing. Unfortunately, most of "Hannah Montana 3" just doesn't have the same nostalgic charm as those earlier bops. It fits the arc of the show, and it makes sense that 18-year-old Hannah wouldn't still be singing blindly optimistic bops about the beauty of her (secret) rock star life. Most of "Hanna Montana 3" is more obviously vulnerable and less poppy than her first two albums, which is fine. "Don't Wanna Be Torn" plays on season three, episode 19, "He Could Be the One (Part 2)."
